I was reading Haaretz (Israeli newspaper) today when I noticed that the Google ads on top are actually addressed to the people in Lebanon. I know Google ads are actually based on the page content, but it’s funny no?

it’s also based on your ip address 🙂
they know where you live heheheee
It works in reverse also, Rami! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been reading a Daily Star article about Israeli overflights, cluster bombs, tensions heating up etc. etc. only to see that the accompanying advertisement invites me to visit Israel, buy Dead Sea spa products, or – not really possible – make aliya. So to Moussa’s point: it does work by IP, at least broadly, but it must also work by keywords.
@ moussa: They should be proud I read their newspaper!! 😛
@ diamond: thanks for the extra info, I saw your post about it 🙂
google ads are also based on your IP address
