I was at Idriss Supermarket (Hamra) few days ago when I noticed a new soft drink on the shelves, and the brand name is “Kazouza”. I’m sure you have heard the word “kazouz” before, referring to carbonated soft drinks, so here you go a Kazouza!
I personally liked the name and the design of the bottle. However, the producers claim to have existed since 1941, do you have any info about that? Darine from Identity Chef blog is also wondering about it!
Hi Rami,
We actually found a 5th flavor- Grapefruit. Its now sitting in our fridge waiting to be mutilated:) Thx for the link love BTW π
Maybe it refers to when the song first came out,
“mashrabsh el shai, ashrab kazouza ana” π
BTW @fredshadian & my boss said that there was nothing called kazouza during tehir childhood there were two brands RC & jalloul they were generally referred to as Kazouza.. so I am guessing they wanted to instill nostalgia in the babyboom generation.
i like it
@Darine
Just as my parents told me too, nothing called kazouza, only RC & Jalloul.
I think the producers meant that they themselves have been existing since 1941, and not the brand name “Kazouza”
Anyway, I tested it (the lemon one). I loved this chemical taste, but I still prefer the good old crush in its dark/orange bottle.
Absolutely right! I miss that crush drink too. Why donβt they make it anymore? And why is it that drinks overseas taste better than in the states?
Hello friends,
I’m an AUB business senior. I found this new Lebanese product interesting “kazouza”.
So could you please support me with enough info about it. For example, what is the name of the company, whose producing it? Where I can find it? Is the company doing any advertising campaigns? Any thing!
Thank you all, in advance,
Best Regards!
Hasan
@Hasan
For more information about Kazouza and the company that produces it, you cn refer to the following post on Darine’s blog:

Well am sipping the Strawberry Melon and enjoying it to the max!
I wish they sell these in New York!
The producer of this product is Cedar’s premium. They are the previous owners of the Najm company ( since 1941) and used to own pampa. kazouza is the new version of Kazouza Najm that was the main competitor of jalloul even before RC cola.
Hope that helped π
Hello Guys!
I live in Dubai, and i discovered KAZOUZA in very old grocery shop in down town Dubai… I have never seen this brand in any of the well known super stores yet… but to my discovery, i really liked the taste… Guys, be surprised and add ONE more flavor to the list, Yes, we have LEMON MINT here! and i love it!
During our childhood the Cinema sales tools was through a person who enter before the movie start and during the break shouting Kazouza Kazouza instead of shouting the brands name, later on some of them started to shout,” Pepsi 3aseer Bared” or Cola 3aseer Bared”
I bought one the other day in Sweden in Uppsala. It was Tamarind taste! Very nice!
hello
we have a company called tawfeer international sal its a kind of hard discounter in lebanon we have now 3 stores and we want to add your items and sell it in our supermarkets ,so i hope to send me your phone number to keep in touch
Kazouza never been a trade mark to any product. It is a common name describing soft drink, something similar to what the American means when the say “Soda”. Kazouza use to be a kind of common name for soft drink till end 60 in Lebanon but certainly never been a brand name or trade mark.
So what happened to jallool brand?
The jalloul brand is back on the market. With four falvors namely cola, lemon, orange and tamarind. The word kazooza actually is derived from the french “gazeuze” as in sparkling water. So it was a common name for all soft drinks.
