Parking meters around Beirut all allow free parking after 5 or 6 PM except in Solidere! As you can see in the below photo, free parking is only allowed after 11 PM (Monday to Saturday).
In addition, as shown in the below photo a flat rate of 3,000L.L applies between 8 & 11 PM (Monday to Saturday), and to my knowledge it doesn’t exist anywhere else, even in the busy Hamra street.
So what’s so special about Solidere to set the parking meters in it that way?!
In Gemmayze & Saifi same time restrictions apply, but i do not know about the flat rate though π
its solidere !! they are allowed to do whatever they want..this is lebanon π
thats the asnwer π
this is not necessarily an anomaly or a solidere/lebanon thing.
the same rules apply in “better” areas of Washington DC for instance.
solidere has no authority over the parking meters.
park in the parking, 2000LL π that’s what i do
@Phil
Well, Solidere might not have an authority over the meters, but it has enough power to make the municipality of Beirut to enforce that flat rate in order to push people to park at the old parking spaces, where you have to pay 2250 L.L.
@Liliane
maybe that’s the purpose of the flat rate, to make u park at the old places π
