Seems like Beyonce’s new Heat perfume ads were too provocative for some people! I was on my way to work this morning when I noticed they were vandalized overnight at Dora highway. (Same as what happened to Marie France’s ads back in May)
The act is pretty weird though… there are much more other explicit ads all over the country, why did they decide to just target this one?
Anyway, it’s good no one thought of playing the video commercial of the perfume at one of the newly installed outdoor giant screens!
Hmmmm, well this isn’t the route to the south, nor is it in any specific suburb area in Beirut. What I am guessing is it’s media mafia- a form of authoritative media networks trying to make a point. for examples, elephant versus pikasso, or promo media versus elephant let’s say. Noting that both Marie France and Beyonce perfume do not come from the same distributor, such vandalism is covered by the media and not the client, hence the financial & reputation damage is to the media.
If I am wrong, and noting I am all against Lebanon outdoor media space & advertising (it’s sick), but its such behavior that reflects this country’s low demeanor and inability to embrace civilization.
Or maybe it’s one of the local “singers” who are promoting their own perfume and got jealous? I won’t name names…
The problem is not the vandalism of this photo or that!
The problem is these billboards themselves!! Dangerous for the safety and harmfull to the scene ..
They are visual pollution ! Instead of planting trees, we plant these ugly billboards !
Well, unlike inaccessible billboards..these are easy to reach and easy to vandalize. So, it’s either a media war, like Rasha said..or some fanatics who are taking censorship into their own hands.!
i will have to comment on Rasha’s comment 🙂
Since you mentioned Promomedia, and being a member of this company, i know for a fact that we don’t have any illegal panel, we are present mainly in Beirut, where you are OBLIGED to have a license to install a panel, unlike Dora, which we aren’t present at all there.
Needless to mention that Promomedia shouldn’t be listed among the billboard companies such as elephant, since we don’t sell networks of billboards, we are known for our backlits which target a totally different type of clients.

OK, what’s up with the eyebrow thing? Dora and Boots have NO EYEBROWS, yet almost every other character, including many inanimate objects (trees, backpack, mountains, etc.) DOES have eyebrows! Thanks…
