Is it really right to name a street in Beirut after a personal bodyguard?
Yehya Al-Arab was the head of Rafic Hariri’s security team and got killed with him in the explosion. All the respect to that man and his family and we were all saddened by his tragic death, but I thought streets should be named after writers, scientists, philosophers, politicians, etc… i.e. people with great achievements.
I thought this was a joke. Is this official? And where is this street located?
No wonder… simply that’s Lebanon…

or nah, the bodyguard thing is juicier
I think it is weird to name a street after a bodyguard, but at the same time it is a good way to honor this man. I agree with you that streets should be named after people with great achievements, and if he forexample had saved Hariri it would have been different.
LOlz, this comment is becoming weird. El mouhem, this is weird. And quoting @Hani, it is Lebanon , and the best IS yet to come.
Happy New Year,

I have no more idea about it.But i think you are good platform that indicate a good direction…
So what, personal bodyguards are sub-human? As long as they have street names to navigate by, it’s a great thing. Beats “street number 3 house number 8”.
this street was named arab street due to all its residents , they are all from arab family or as we say 3arab its not a bodygourd it was called share3 al 3arab so it does not need all of this ta3assob . take it easy guys it was known even befor 40 years as shar3 al 3arab .
one thing that bothers me in this post is that you said streets should be named after writers, scientists, philosophers, politicians…………politicians????? what fucking great achievement did any politician achieve in lebanon
