I bet you’ve experienced waiting in line at the popular movies theaters in Beirut especially Grand Cinemas ABC and Cinemacity City Mall. The waiting time is basically due to the fact that shows for blockbuster movie get fully booked very quickly, and so when one’s turn arrives at the box office and get surprised that there’s no more seats for M:I-4 let’s say, he’ll take at least half a minute to decide on an alternative movie to watch. And that applies for the next 10 people waiting in front of you…
Wouldn’t be better if these theaters display a small counter next to showtime listings telling the number of remaining seats for each show? It would definitely help people decide beforehand which movie to watch, and reduce the long queues at the box office.
Or, you could have an online booking system where everyone takes their sweet time at home picking the movie and the seats, and then they come to the theater counters only to print their tickets. You don’t even need to have online payment, you could have a reservation system where any tickets that are booked but not picked up say an hour before the show are freed up.
But then again, that would require Lebanese people to have skills in planning and foresight.. forget I said anything.

It’s actually possible to buy tickets online at http://lb.grandcinemas.com. And you can also reserve by phone, but the tickets will be freed up if you don’t show 30 minutes before the show I guess.
But most of the times, my friends and I make the impromptu decision to watch a movie when we’re already out.
Or perhaps they could show movies with available seats online and maybe book their tickets online.
@Serene
True, as I mentioned Grand Cinemas already offer that on their website.
It would be ideal if they display the remaining number of seats available on a screen. They should also make this option available online
