So as I mentioned in a previous post, the events in the first episodes of “Homeland” take place in Beirut, but its producers decided to shoot these scenes in Tel Aviv and make it look like Beirut as shown in the above photo. Still, the result didn’t seem pretty convincing to Karl from Karl reMarks blog, and so he offered the below alternatives!
I think this was 1 of the most unrealistic episodes to date. Even more unfortunate that it perpetuates so many of the inaccurate images of Beirut. Although I have to admit, I did LOL at the sight of the crowd in front of the Embassy, their portrayal of the Airport AND the thought of women having to walk around with headscarves through Beirut.
