Two days ago I announced the first giveaway on +961 sponsored by CineKlik offering 2 movie tickets for the premiere of “The Runaways”, all what you had to do is to post a comment and share the giveaway on Facebook.

Just few minutes ago I asked @MarieNakhle on Twitter to randomly choose a lucky winner, and it turned out to be a guy who commented under the name of “Moudz”.

The snapshot below shows how it went:

Overdoing the World Cup 2010 – II

I was in Tripoli last Saturday on the way to El-Mina when I spotted this building covered with German flags on all sides! And obviously that fanatic supporter Rabah Assafiri is so proud of himself that he’s even displaying his name on a flag for Bayern Munich… probably to get attention? He got mine at least.

There’s probably more flags on this building than on Berlin’s presidential palace!

Achrafiyeh is loyal to Don Corleone

I saw this banner signed by “the people of Achrafiyyeh” at Sassine square last week right after the municipality elections was over, and it only lasted for a few days there before it was removed.

Antoun Sehnaoui AchrafiyyehTranslation: The proud Achrafieh is loyal to Antoune Sehnaoui

How can people be loyal to a gangster? Is he Don Corleone or something? I bet it was Sehnaoui’s bodyguards who put up that banner!

Miss USA 2010 is Lebanese!

Rima Fakih Miss USA 2010

A 24-year-old Lebanese immigrant has been crowned Miss U.S.A.

Rima Fakih, from Dearborn, Michigan, is believed to be the first Muslim to win the pageant despite nearly stumbling over in her evening gown last night.

Born in Lebanon, she emigrated with her parents to the U.S. as a baby. She was raised in New York and attended a Catholic school.

Overdoing the World Cup 2010

The world cup is kicking off in less than a month and lot of people are getting those mini flags for their cars and balconies, it might seem silly but it’s cool as long as it makes people deviate a bit from the political discussions.

Still, it really is pathetic when you get a flag that is more than 1 meter in width or length! I’m pretty sure you could have put that spent money for a better use! Probably to fix your screeching brakes?

I took the first photo in Jdeideh, while I got the second via one of my Facebook friends.
