Biel is Moving from Beirut Waterfront to Al Naher Area

It seems like Biel which has hosted countless exhibitions and events at Beirut Waterfront is soon moving to Al Naher area (The road that takes you from Emile Lahoud road toward Chevrolet/Alfa). My friend Amer Tabsh just shared some photos on Facebook showing the new location with construction works in progress.

I have no idea about the reason for the move but I guess Solidere has probably plans to build something else instead of it at the Waterfront. As for the new location, people are definitely going to be criticizing choosing Al Naher area, but the owners probably had no other choice knowing that lands of big areas are almost not existent in Beirut. Somewhere in Jnah could have probably been an alternative.

In all cases, people crossing Emile Lahoud road everyday better be prepared for the traffic Jam the new Biel will be causing during each event hosted there!

Ellie Goulding live at Biel next week

Compared to all the artists coming to Lebanon this summer, Ellie Goulding’s concert on July 23rd at Biel is definitely going to be the biggest act this season!

I already got my tickets from Mix FM and you can reserve yours online at Ticketing Box Office or at any Virgin store in Lebanon.

O1ne club Beirut paint up

O1ne is a new club near Biel that is set to open its doors this winter. 16 International artists have worked a while ago to create this massive graffiti on its wall.

I’m still not sure by the way how are we supposed to spell “O1ne”! one? o-one-ne?

Dinner in the Sky – Now in Beirut

I got the photos below from the launching of the not-so-new dining concept that was lately introduced to the snobbish people of Lebanon, a dinner in the sky.

This dining experience consists of a 22 guests table that goes up to 50 meters in the air (with the aid of a crane of course) along with three staff members, the waiter, the chef and an entertainer, to enjoy a magnificent view of the city while having your dinner. I’m not sure though if the adrenaline rush will allow you to identify how does the food really taste…

The launch of  “Dinner in the Sky” took place at BIEL on June 11, and was attended by media personalities, celebrities and VIP’s (you know those who have 4-digit car plate numbers). It was held by ALF Events and the food was catered by La Table d’Alfred.

In case you’re interested, you can reserve the whole table for 8 hours at… $15,000 ONLY! So that’s $727.27 per person, ya baleish! Still, their website claims that you can divide the 8 hours according to your taste, so the more people you can get to share the 8 hours with you, at the rate of 22 person per session, the less the cost per person will be.

Lebanon Motor Show 2010 – The Photos

Few days ago I posted about the Lebanon Motor Show which is held at BIEL, downtown Beirut. So today is time to publish some photos from my visit!

I went there on Sunday evening, and there was a huge traffic on the entrance! So I advice you to go on weekdays, just don’t wait till the weekend (it ends on April 18th) because I’m sure it will be very crowded.

The show has 4 halls, 2 for showing cars, 1 for banks (where you can get good deal until the show ends), and 1 for car accessories. Overall it was nice and I recommend that you go check it out.

I leave you now with the photos I got, be careful if you’re a faint-hearted!
