“Bebalee” Is An Insult to Fayrouz’s Career
Fayrouz’s new album “Bebalee” has been out for three days, but unlike her previous albums, this one is yet to make any buzz be it online or on radio stations.
I did listen to the album and was unfortunately quite disappointed. Adaptation of foreign songs using silly lyrics is the worst you can expect from an icon like Fayrouz, and the only one to blame is definitely her daughter Reema Rahbani who seems to have produced this album to just prove to her brother Ziad that she can actually create something regardless the quality or the artistic value. “Elak aw eli aw mish la shi, mish la shi, wala ayy shi” is exactly what you would in Arabic call saff 7akeh.
Fayrouz did perform songs with light lyrics in the past (e.g. Kifak enta malla enta) but in my opinion she never delivered something as mediocre as Bebalee.
I really hope she makes it up in the near future by working again with her son Ziad.
Fayrouz Drops a New Single Inspired by John Lennon’s Imagine
Earlier in June Fayrouz released a new single titled “Lameen” from her upcoming album Bebalee, and just last night her daughter Reema Rahbany posted about a second single titled “Yemken” and this time it was inspired by Jon Lennon’s Imagine.
You can get it from iTune here or just wait a few hours until some people rip it and post it everywhere on Facebook and YouTube.
Fayrouz Preparing For A New Album?
Fayrouz’s daughter, Reema Rahbany, has been posting a series of teaser-like videos on Facebook over the last 4 day all showing Fayrouz in a recording studio apparently working on a new single or album.
The videos have no caption or description but I really hope a new project is in the making. And if it is the case, then it would be interesting to know the musicians she is collaborating with. She usually works with her son Ziad Rahbany, but I recall he mentioned in one of his interviews that they were not on good terms over the last few years and I’m not sure whether they reconciled or not.
You can check all the videos on Reema’s Facebook profile.
Celebrate Talents Instead of Making Stupid People Famous!
Bimbos and attention whores never fail to make an occasion pass without trying to garner followers and likes on their social media platforms, and for Christmas time, it was of course mandatory to pose in skimpy red outfits because you know… there’s no other way to celebrate such occasion!
However, and despite the fact that everybody talk negatively about these SM figures, you keep seeing their followers count constantly increasing due to all the publicity they get on social network and especially Facebook. It’s like people follow their pages to just see how bad the next videos/photos will be, which motivate page owners to fart more content and the whole thing eventually gets other bimbos to get jealous, create pages, and do the same!
Unfortunately, the biggest losers out of this become the talented artists who produce really good content but fail to get the exposure they deserve because people are too busy monitoring Rola Yammout’s activity on instagram!
Sevine and Azizat Beyrouth are the best examples of talents that are not getting the attention they really deserve, and my latest discovery today was a girl called “Carla Chamoun” who has a beautiful voice and some cool videos on One:Sixteen’s Facebook page, yet for some reason the number of view she gets is incomparable to that of other silly videos..!
Here are a couple of my favorite videos of her.

Carla in concert | UNESCO Palace, Beirut | Dec. 2016 |Posted by One:Sixteen on Saturday, December 24, 2016
The likes of Carla, Sevine, and Azizat Beyrouth are the ones who deserve the serious exposure. I know it’s impossible to keep people from following the lives of star wannabes, but just try to make better decisions about the stuff that should be spread out on social networks.
Covering Fairouz songs this way should be illegal
I have no idea how did the judges agree that this contestant in The X Factor Arabia performs one of Fairouz’s songs this way, he seemed more like a comedian.
Performance starts at 1m30s.
Merry Christmas
With this segment from Fayrouz’ concert last year I wish you all a merry Christmas!
New album for Fayrouz?
Let’s hope this is true. Al-Anba (A Kuwaiti newspaper) posted today that Fayrouz will soon be releasing a new album and is currently busy choosing the songs to be included in it.
I also hope she holds a concert in parallel as I still have never watched Fayrouz performing live, and totally regretted missing the opportunity to do so in the last few years at BIEL and Pleatea.
Ziad Rabani to appear on Al Mayadeen TV
According to this article in Al-Akhbar, Ziad Rahbani is making an appearance on Al Mayadeen TV tomorrow night with Ghassan Ben Jeddo to express his opinion about the Arab Spring, talk about Assi El Rahbani and Fayrouz, and finally announce a surprise to his fans.
I personally don’t care about his political opinion, I just hope he’ll be announcing a concert/play anytime soon!
Anyway, if you’re a fan of Ziad, make sure to mark your calendar tomorrow at 9:30PM.
Picadilly Theater – Hamra
Make sure to check these cool recent photos Al-Akhbar has published from inside the Picadilly theater in Hamra. This theater is most famous for hosting several performances by Fayrouz and Ziad El-Rahbani, but a fire unfortunately broke out in it back in the 90s and has been inactive ever since.
In an ideal world, someone would take the initiative to renovate the Picadilly and Zaid El-Rahbani would come back to it for a new performance! (One can always dream..)
