Al Jadeed News Fail – Hitler cheered in his grave for Germany’s win!

This is quite weird and awkward! Zeinab Abdel Sater and Jad Ghosn from Al Jadeed TV concluded their report about the world cup final game by stating that Hitler cheered in his grave for Germany’s win! (At the 1m50s mark)

They definitely need to have their reports reviewed before airing next time!

Video of the Mannschaft fans going crazy in Hamra

This is insane! Check how the fans of Germany celebrated in Hamra following the win over Argentina in the world cup final last night!

On a side note, I’m a fan of Germany too and have been waiting for this moment for 24 years now! đŸ˜€

Agent 505 – Todesfalle Beirut

I just stumbled upon this old German movie called “Agent 505 – Todesfalle Beirut” (also known as “Agent 505 – The Trap Door Falls in Beirut”) that was shot in Beirut back in 1966.

The part below has some scenes from Raouche, Ain El Mraisseh, and the airport of Beirut. I wish I can find some other parts or even the full movie somewhere online!

If you’re curious about the storyline, here’s what I found by one user on IMDB.

A dastardly villain known as The Sheikh threatens to wipe out the city of Beirut (and all 650,000 of its citizens) in this reasonably entertaining West German thriller from director Manfred Kohler, perhaps best known today for co-writing Harry Kumel’s erotic vampire epic Daughters of Darkness. Frederick Stafford plays suave secret agent Richard Blake, on the trail of The Sheikh with the assistance of gorgeous reporter Denise DuPree (Genevieve Cluny). A philanthropist named Omar Abdullah (Willy Birgel), whose cause is rehabilitating criminals, attracts the attention of Blake, and we’re off to the races. Babes, bullets, and gadgets–they’re all here and shot on location in mod, mod Beirut, at the time an ‘international city’ and a popular spot for European co-productions.

Music lovers should note that Ennio Morricone’s score echoes his spaghetti western work but fits nicely into the proceedings, whilst anticipating Theodorakis’ percussive Z score by a full year. The English language print misspells his name ‘Morricono’, though!

Overdoing the World Cup 2010 – VIII

You thought a loss to Spain in the semi final game would stop the Mannschaft fans from celebrating? Hell no, we’re in Lebanon!!

This video below was shot in Hamra street facing Roadster Diner. Right after the game ended, the German fans blocked the street and started celebrating for nothing, just to prove they are there..! On the other hand, the Spanish team fans stood on the opposite side of the street doing nothing. Crazy eh?

Overdoing the World Cup 2010 – VII

More on the Lebanese overdoing the World Cup and over cheering for their favorite teams! It happened that I was watching Germany vs. Argentina at some cafe in Aley, and right after the game ended, everybody in the village hopped into their cars and started touring the streets in endless convoys!

The video below says it all, inside of it you’ll get to see a guy waving a slipper with an Argentinian tied on it! (diplomatic crisis on the rise?), infinite number of German flags, and a police car stuck in traffic unable to do a thing!

On the other hand, I spot these photos on Facebook. Few guys made a funeral for Brazil following their loss to Holland on Friday!

Overdoing the World Cup 2010 – II

I was in Tripoli last Saturday on the way to El-Mina when I spotted this building covered with German flags on all sides! And obviously that fanatic supporter Rabah Assafiri is so proud of himself that he’s even displaying his name on a flag for Bayern Munich… probably to get attention? He got mine at least.

There’s probably more flags on this building than on Berlin’s presidential palace!

Overdoing the World Cup 2010

The world cup is kicking off in less than a month and lot of people are getting those mini flags for their cars and balconies, it might seem silly but it’s cool as long as it makes people deviate a bit from the political discussions.

Still, it really is pathetic when you get a flag that is more than 1 meter in width or length! I’m pretty sure you could have put that spent money for a better use! Probably to fix your screeching brakes?

I took the first photo in Jdeideh, while I got the second via one of my Facebook friends.

Hitler finds out Michael Jackson has died!

A friend of mine sent me this helarious video today. Hitlet gets pissed off to hear that Michael Jackson has died and won’t be able to perform at his birthday party!

The scene is orginally from the “Downfall” movie produced in 2004 about his final days in his Berlin bunker at the end of World War II. There are several similar movies like the above, one being about banning him from Xbox live along with his gamescore and Microsoft point! You can check it here.
