Beirut Beer – A new beer from Kassatly Chtaura

Looks like the spirits industry is one of the hot investments in the country right now as we keep hearing about both entrepreneurs and big companies releasing new alcoholic beverages. Over the past few years 961 beer was launched and several wineries were established in Bekaa and the north, and earlier this year we got J2 Vodka (Polish made with Lebanese water) while Almaza kept on updating their offering with both Almaza light and Almaza lemon.

And just today, I was browsing Massabki’s page on Facebook when I was surprised to learn that Kassatly Chtaura are also launching a new beer in Lebanon called “Beirut Beer”, which is going to be produced in the Bekaa valey and will be available in supermarkets over the coming few days.

I also managed to find the below two ads for it on YouTube and they seemed a bit similar to Buzz’s ads (another product of Kassatly).

Careem – Another cab app launched in Beirut!

Seems like it’s the cab apps day on the blog today! I was searching for similar services to Uber in the region and came across this article on the launching of Careem in Beirut.

Careem is yet another cab app that connects passengers to drivers and works exactly the same way as Uber, except that I felt like the booking process is smoother in Uber. What remains now though is knowing which one has the best fares and service.

Careem is available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry.

Roadster Diner launching a new burger: Route 66

To celebrate their 15th anniversary, it came to my knowledge that Roadster Diner will be launching a new burger called Route 66. So I asked the cool people at Roadster about it and was informed it will be made out of 250g of American prime beef, lettuce, melted cheddar cheese, sweet red onion, fresh tomato, pickles, and the new R 66 sauce.

I also got the below photo of it (click to enlarge) which shows that Route 66 will be served with the usual coleslaw salad, in addition to crunchy potato dipper and a sour herbs special dip for a change.

I personally haven’t had a burger since Ramadan started, and the Route 66 seems like a good one to have after Eid!

Lebanese hypercar to be unveiled in Qatar this month

According to this article in Trade Arabia, a Lebanese hypercar called “LykanHypersport 2013” produced by W Motors will be unveiled at Qatar Motor Show later this month. The car will cost $3,400,000, and only 7 units of it will be built which will make it the world’s most exclusive car.

The Lykan’s specifications include: a flat 6, twin-turbo, mid-rear positioned 750 horsepower engine delivering 1000 NM of torque takes the vehicle from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.8 seconds to reach the break neck maximum speed of 390 kilometers per hour.

For those that enjoy the finer things in life, the lavishness of the LykanHypersport 2013 takes luxury to a whole new level. Diamond -encrusted LED lights and gold-stitched interior leather guarantee that the passengers travel in style. Other high-level specifications include a reverse door opening system, a state-of-the-art 3D Virtual Holographic display with tactile interaction, and an innovative ID4Motion interactive dashboard.

As a gift for buying the most exclusive car in the market, owners will be awarded with a Special Edition Cyrus Klepcys Watch, worth over $200,000. Like the LykanHypersport 2013, only seven watches will be produced.

The Lykan looks really cool and I really wish W Motors sell all of their 7 units, but would car enthusiasts be really interested in spending $3.4 million on a Lebanese made car?

Tania Saleh new album launch

Tania Saleh, Lebanese singer – songwriter and Batoota Foundation would like to invite you to the launch of Tania Saleh’s eagerly awaited second studio album “Wehde” along with the music video launch of the album title, at a press conference and CD signing event in Café Im Nazih, Saifi Urban Gardens on Thursday April 21st 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for Tania’s new album “Wehde” to be released ever since I started hearing news about it one year ago, and just yesterday I got an e-mail about the launching event. Her first album “Tani Saleh” was released in 2002 and remains one of the very few albums that I still play to this day.

And here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming video.
