Fatburger at Beirut City Centre

fatburger sign

Fatburger is the new burger joint in town and was among the places I’ve been waiting for to open at Beirut City Centre since I enjoyed trying it in Dubai last year.

Their menu is quite simple as they offer burgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips along with some other side items.

Ordering is quite fun by the way since the cashier relays back everything to the rest of the team and they all end up shouting whatever you have ordered. Anyway, I ordered a single Fatburger and it tasted good as everything in it was fresh but I felt the patty was a bit overcooked.

Price-wise, Fatburger serves single, double, triple, and quad patty burger, at 9,500L.L, 12,500L.L, 15,500L.L, and 19,500L.L respectively, plus an additional 6,500L.L to make a meal.

Roadster Diner’s new menu

Roadster just launched its new menu containig some new items like the Texas Steak sandwich, Rd. Cheese-At-Heart burger, and Rd Double Diner burger. Make sure to check it out here.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend a tasting session I’ve been invited to at their branch in Le Mall tonight, but trying out some of the new items is definitely on my to do list in the coming few days because of all the good feedback I’m reading on their Facebook page!

This menu will leave you in awe!

I really can’t believe someone can be that bad in English… the menu items are just unreal!

Tabboush snack is a proof that sucking at translation is not exclusive to Egyptians and Syrians (with all due respect), apparently Lebanese too can do a terrible job sometimes. The place offers Urination, Bebse, Duonas, Zaluoaa, Flesh, Black chickens, and a lot more… check for yourself.

According to my friend who provided the photos, Tabboush made 25,000 copies of the menu… so there’s 25,000 copies of this thing possibly roaming the streets of Beirut and ready to massacre your brain at anytime!

Lebanonizing the sushi experience

If you find the combination of Sushi and Arguileh to be appealing, then Republic in Zalka is probably the place for you.

I went there few days ago and was surprised to see that they have recently added a sushi section to their menu, meaning you can now enjoy having your sushi while puffing smoke rings! 😛

On a serious note, I’m not an Arguileh expert but my friends claim Republic has the best Arguileh in town.

Overpriced items at Zaatar w Zeit

I saw this post by Blog Baladi today and recalled I took the below photo a few days ago with the intention of writing about the same subject, the overpriced items at Zaatar w Zeit!

I went to the ZwZ last week for the first time in 2 years and was surprised with their new menu. Stating that the Labneh plate you will serve is “to share” definitely doesn’t justify pricing it at 9,250L.L! And what’s the price of the add ons to the “Bayd Aadi”?

I honestly used to go there everytime I was low on budget and still wanted to have a good meal at a nice place, but now it doesn’t seem like one of the cheaper alternatives anymore… I wonder if they’ll listen this time too.

You don’t see this everyday

I was going through the Pool Cafe menu at Grand Hills Broummana when I couldn’t but notice that one of the appetizers platters was highly priced at 1,575,000 L.L! (around $1,050)

The platter turned out to be 50 grams of Beluga Caviar, the wold’s most expensive type of caviar (God bless Google who knows everything!), which currently retails here for ~$9,300 per kilogram.

According to Google, the lighter the color of this caviar, the more expensive it is. The most expensive is called “Almas” (means Diamond in Arabic) because of its white appearance, which is extremely rare and comes from Iran.

So, now you know where to treat yourself with a luxury appetizer in Lebanon that costs a bit more than a month worth of salary for a fresh graduate engineer!
