I saw this on the front of a mini-bus 2 days ago in Tarik Al-Jadida, Beirut. I am sure the driver is “Shou ya ashta” style!

Latest photography
Here are three of the last photos I took in the summer.
As you may know, summer is the weddings season in Lebanon, and so the two first photos are from a wedding a week ago.
This one was taken early in July from a building in the Sayfi area.
Laguava resort
Beach is the best destination these days, and Laguava – Rmeileh was my choice on Saturday! Checkout some of the photos I took.
Michael Jackson tribute – Beirut mass Moonwalk
I know I’m a bit late for publishing this post but I had a hectic weekend! Anyway, a mass moonwalk was held in Gemmayze street, on Friday 26th of June, as a tribute to Michael Jackson. The whole thing started on Twitter and I honestly expected it to be more like a small gathering, however thanks to Blogging Beirut‘s author and other active users on Twitter it turned into an impromptu concert celebrating Michael Jackson’s life and songs in the heart of Gemmayze facing Saint-Nicolas stairs.
I was there with my camera and got these photos to share with you.
Moonwalkers orignally wanted to do their dance in the middle of the street near Torino, and started by lighting candles…
But policemen had a problem with it since moonwalkers were blocking the traffic!
After solving things out, moonwalkers headed to Saint Nicolas stairs.
A boy who sells chiclets also participated!
Are you kidding me?!
I was in Zahleh yesterday and I encountered this at the entrance of the Berdawni.
Fi shi bi 3a2el, w shi bala 3a2l, hay masalan bala 3a2el!
Does the chinese make fake balloons? or does the italian make ones that last longer?
Photos from the elections day
So it’s June 7th, the elections day! I went to two areas in the morning, Tarik Al-Jadida and Karantina.
Tarik Al-Jadida was a living hell, people were everywhere around the polling stations, and it took the lady with me around 1 hour and 30 minutes to cast her ballot. On the other hand, it took me 5 minutes to get in and out at the Karantina polling station, and I got back with these photos (You can click to enlarge)

People gathering outside one of the Future Movement stations in Tarik Al-Jadida
One of the Future Movement ladies giving me a bottle of water while saying
These two boys thought I’m a journalist (due to my big size cam!) they told me they will be waiting for their image to appear on TV tonight! I said OK!
Yet another Future Movement station
This is a polling station at Karantina, no traffic jam there.
On the way back, Charles Helou road was almost empty
I wish I was able to take more photos but I was driving at the same time! Not to mention that it is somehow difficult to take photos while army, bodyguards, and internal security forces are all around you!
Anyway, in addition to these photos, I also filmed the whole voting process using my cell phone!! (Illegal??) And I will try to upload it as soon as I can.
First time in Syria
I found this funny photo on Flickr via Twitter.
Someone in Syria is offering installing Kaspersky Antivirus (a cracked version of course), which can bust all types of viruses, both known and unknown! Ktir 2aweh.
Carlos striking back!
Passing by Jounieh Saturday morning, on my way to Tripoli, I encountered this sign.
As you can see, Carlos Edde used the Free Patriotic Movement’s language to strike back at them. Although it is an imitation, but not bad as a start…!
Cedric and Sara – The real story
Almost three weeks ago, Liliane (from lilzi.blogspot.com) blogged about this cool billboard at Antellias:
The billboard says “Sara… Will you marry me? Cedric”. At that time, I think every girl was envying Sara and wishing to find a guy like him. And I honestly felt jealous of him!
But just today, Tarek (from beirutntsc.blogspot.com) revealed the truth! It wasn’t a real proposal, it was a pure advertisement for Sleep Comfort.
The girls can now breath I guess, men like Cedric do NOT exist!!
Saint George – Manara – Hamra
Here are 3 new photos I’ve taken lately in Beirut, the first one was taken in the Saint Georges at night, the second is obviosly at Manara during sunset, and the last one was taken at a place called “Graffiti” in Makdissi street (Hamra). (Click on the thumbnails to enlarge)
