Rumors about Spotify expanding to the Middle East started circulating around a year ago, and just today the service finally announced their official launch in Lebanon and several other countries in the region with sign-ups open for everyone.
The launching covered Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, and you can use Spotify either for free or through premium subscription worth $4.99/month in Lebanon, which allows streaming of music without commercial ads as well as the ability to download tracks that can be played offline.
I have just downloaded the Spotify app to my phone but didn’t yet figure if there are any limitation on the music catalog in our region.
You can sign-up for an account on Spotify.com or download the apps for iOS here and Android here.
