Amusing flash mob at Beirut Airport

Two friends of mine just shared this video on Facebook! Looks like some of Beirut airport staff performed on March 5th 2011 a dabke dance inside the airport premises to the rythm of a Houwwara song, and it turned out pretty cool!

I have no idea why did they do it, but I loved how people of all ages were participating, kudos!

Update:
Here’s another video, shot on March 4th, of a rehearsal for the dance. According to Biba from +961’s page on Facebook, the dance was done for an ad for Beirut Duty Free.

Beyonce’s Heat ads vandalized at Dora highway

Seems like Beyonce’s new Heat perfume ads were too provocative for some people! I was on my way to work this morning when I noticed they were vandalized overnight at Dora highway. (Same as what happened to Marie France’s ads back in May)

The act is pretty weird though… there are much more other explicit ads all over the country, why did they decide to just target this one?

Anyway, it’s good no one thought of playing the video commercial of the perfume at one of the newly installed outdoor giant screens!

Bank Audi’s music bands live at Music Hall

A friend of mine who works for Bank Audi invited me to a free concert they were holding at Music Hall where two of the bank’s music bands, “Band Audi” & “Audiyyat”, were performing to promote conscientious driving along with Kunhadi.

It was impressive to see these musical among Bank Audi’s staff, they were really good! Check the 2 videos I recorded, the girl in the first video has a striking voice.

Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project – Lebanon party was a blast!

It finally happened! The exchange party took place at “The Warehouse” Zalka, formerly known as “Galerie Vivre”, and it was nothing less than a blast!

I reached there at around 10PM, two Thai girls greeted us at the entrance before we made our way inside where almost everyone was fascinated by the the red lanterns that created a nice ambiance.

An hour later the place was all packed while people were still pouring in! The warm music ended at around 11:30PM I think, and a traditional Thai dance was performed by two girls, which marked that the party has officially began!

… and DJ Madjam quickly got the people in the mood.

By 12:30AM, everyone was wearing these Thai flower necklaces.

Definitely looking for the next party if there will be a second nightlife exchange! And now I leave with this video that I recorded while Madjam was performing. (I actually recorded several videos but my phone was behaving weirdly and for some reason I ended up with this one only!! Quite frustrating!)

Abou Talal – Saida’s best news analyst

Are you following Chi NN on NEW TV? It’s a new (relatively new!) comedy show featuring two news anchors, Fouad and Edmond, who keep us up to date with Lebanon’s social and political news in a sarcastic way, with the help of Jad who does on the ground funny news reports and Abou Talal who’s from Saida and positions himself as the best news analyst!

So Abou Talal knows it all and always has an answer to ANY question, be it related to politics, sports, or society! He’s just hilarious, from the way he dresses and fixes his hair to the way he comes up with smart conclusions! The video below features the best sketches for Abou Talal from season 1 of Chi NN. Make sure to watch it if you want to start you weekend with a laugh!

Chi NN is currently being aired every Monday at 8:40PM.

Captured on camera: Lebanese cop beating a taxi driver

A lot of people often claim that Lebanese cops only use force with the poor people who are not backed up by anyone. The video below just proves it…

I wonder how would the cop have acted if the same driver was riding a 2010 Mercedes/BMW with a black number plate.

Bank Audi is insensitive!

I really don’t understand how Bank Audi who agreed to execute the below ad to promote a new credit card is the same one who’s planning to replace one of the oldest coffee houses in Beirut, Ahwet El Ezez, with a bank!

The old man in the ad (who appears to be living in a beautiful old house) is recalling the good old days of Lebanon, when he used to commute using the tramway, and go to Saint George, Teleferique, Casino du Liban, AUB, and Carlton (which was demolished few years ago). I’m pretty sure Ahwet El Ezez fits very well in this ad, but with Bank Audi’s decision to replace it, they’re just acting like a guy who hates himself! With the memories he’s recalling, the old man in the ad would never in his life want to see Saint George being demolished for example!

I totally understand Beirut is short on spaces for big offices, but it isn’t like Ahwet El Ezez is the last available space in the city.

Bank Audi is just committing a crime against Beirut Heritage. Who do they think they are?!

Can Miss Lebanon Rahaf Abdallah speak any worse than this?

The video below was part of the Miss Universe 2010 contest to get the audience to know more about the contestants. This is where Miss Lebanon Rahaf Abdallah claimed that Lebanese men are immature and that she was never out on real date before! (inno seriously?!)

Sounds more like a teenager speaking, no wonder she didn’t get the title.
